Clark’s Quality has Tanked!

January 2, 2024I gave two stars because the blue suede shoes are great, so far, but the tan pair are horrible enough, as is Clark’s response of not caring one iota, to really knock the score for the blue pair way down.
I’m so heartbroken! I’m sick/disabled with very minimal income, but I don’t want to buy garbage shoes that I’m gonna keep having to replace and which will look like garbage after a few wears. I’m one of those people who always likes to have nice, clean, mostly pristine looking shoes; I think it says a lot about a person. I have to see a lot of physicians and other medical professionals with the extensive nature of my medical issues, and I always like to look neat and respectable, as many females might know can be important with how we can be treated in the medical community, and every little bit helps. I was in need of a pair of new blue suede loafers to replace the old beautiful Clark’s Trish Calla blue suede loafers I got from here a couple years ago. They were the ones that were perforated and came in some beautiful colors like yellow and hot pink (the pink I just had to have!) but the blue ones have seen better days. And I just needed a tan loafer since I didn’t have one. Clark’s had a big sale, so I purchased those, there. Well, let me tell you, I took those tan loafers out for a quick trip that was less than two hours, where I went into a drugstore and picked up a prescription, so a short walk, and I parked in the first spot right outside the doors, and then I browsed around their jewelry area for about 5 minutes, then left. I drove across the parking lot to another small store to pick up some supplies for Christmas, and I mostly just slowly browsed, with the only real walking being that from the parking lot into the store—a short distance.
Well, by the time I got home, the shoes looked like I had worn them every day for months and walked mini marathons in them, Ha! I don’t know if it’s because it wasn’t leather or the leather was just so thin it was being thickened by having some other material underneath it and if you didn’t tack it down, or glue it down, the thin layer of leather is gonna lift up and get these wave like flowing type of wrinkles, and there’s a lot of thin little wrinkles too; they’re just a mess with how little they were worn, just a mess. I’ll post pictures.
I’d always spend the money on Clark’s because I knew that they’d stand up to the test of time and look good while doing it. Typically, they don’t have to be replaced very often—perfect for somebody with little money who wants to look good and not have to replace them for a long time. But sadly, nobody at Clark’s is interested in their customers’ satisfaction. When I posted comments on a social media site and put pictures out, Clark’s help team acted very interested when they publicly responded to my post, telling me to follow them so that I could DM them and they could help me further. Well, I did all that, only to be 100% ignored once it went into private. So, they have no interest in fixing what was clearly defective shoes. Or at the least, they were shoes which were made with really poor materials and/or craftsmanship. Less than two hours, people. Minimal walking! It may not be a problem for you, but I’ve never had shoes look like this when I barely walked in them, and mostly only stood. The absolutely gorgeous blue suede shoes still looked beautiful after their first outing. The difference of course is the suede, but we will see!
Very Comfortable and Great Fit

September 26, 2024These arrived within 3 days. The fit is perfect and they are extremely comfortable. I wore these all day with bare feet (which was more comfortable than with stockings or socks) and they were like wearing slippers - no blisters or rubbing. The ‘ultimate comfort’ lining lives up to its name. I do have quite narrow feet so these shoes may not be suitable for anyone who needs a wider fit. The sole is an excellent nonslip material and design. Beautiful shoes, fashionable and absolutely perfect for what I wanted. They look great with jeans, cords, and dresses. I will wear them at lot and would definitely buy again or buy others colours. Very happy with the price too. Well done Clarks
Not Real Patent Leather

October 2, 2024Disappointed in this shoe. I don’t buy synthetic materials for footwear and I checked the product description before buying because I know a lot of patent is fake. The description here says either leather or suede. The patent version is man made, not happy about that. They are fairly comfortable when I tried them on, but they do have that fake material “squeak” to them. That’s one of the things that made me check the inside of the shoe to see if it was actually made of real patent. Fake patent, even better quality fake, tends to crack over time and it doesn’t breathe. Will be returning. Too bad because they are cute.
Great Classic Loafer

September 18, 2024Just what I was looking for! I have been searching for a classic loafer, but they are hard to find in a wide width. This loafer is perfect! It has a cushioned footbed and has just the look and fit I wanted. I saw this exact shoe on the Clarks website but there aren’t any stores in my state. I would have to order them online, waited for them to arrive and keep my fingers crossed that they fit. If not, I would have to return them and go through the process all over again. I want to be able to try shoes on to assure a good fit. Also, this shoe was also less expensive at DSW. This was a great find for me! Thanks DSW for carrying a larger selection of Wide Width shoes!
