February 6, 2024I have been wearing LaSportiva trail running shoes for several years now. They are the brand that pro-rock climbers wear and rightly so. The last pair I wore out were the Akyra's.(awesome shoe for the rugged trails). I decided to try these on and they feel great. I sized up since I usually wear an 11.5 so the 12 (45.5 on the Euro size scale) fit pretty great. After just walking around in them for a while, the shoes felt snug and wear well. Just a quick note that with ANY Rugged trail runner you need to break them in. So my suggestion is to not take them out on the rugged trail just yet. Just hike on beginner to intermediate trails first so you can get used to how the shoe feels and how it helps you to maneuver. Just FYI,these shoes and any other rugged trail runner are not for casual all day wear( I read some nonfavorable reviews and was surprised that guys will get these kinds of shoes for everyday casual wear. That is not what these shoes were designed for).
I like the rock plate and the grippy soles so far. If a rugged trail shoe does not have a rock plate I wouldnt bother getting them.
I do wish that LaSportiva would stay consistent with their trail runners, seems like they are discontinuing shoes a lot(as with this shoe, bummer, but hey I snagged a pair and should last me for a couple of years.)
All in all I feel that this shoe is a good deal. If you have decent arches and a normal to mid-with foot, these shoes will fit well.
3rd pair is still in love

November 7, 2024This is my 3rd pair of the Bushido 2 but the 1st Gore-Tex version. Had to pull the trigger when BC went super low on the pricing. As with all La Sport shoes it helps to try them on which is difficult leading to negative reviews on sizing. Size chart I'm a 44 so that's what I went w/. Returned for 44.5, still too small. Ordered the 45 and they are fantastic! Great grip, comfortable for my foot, med. width, med. volume type foot. IMO they look cool too. Super protective upper, and major stability for technical off-trail fun. The only down side to the Gore-Tex is it doesn't breathe like the non-GT version but its fall, heading into winter so that part doesn't bother me at all. Waterproofing is what you would expect from the GT. Ordering was quick and easy per usual with BC. If I see them again anywhere near the price I paid, I would scoop them up again!

February 2, 2024These are my third pair of LA Sportivia Bushido II. I Have been a runner since 2006 and run 10k three times a week and these are by far the best running trainers I have had in that time. I Do a combination of road and cross country and these are brilliant for both. I Still use the first pair I bought its just that I have bought two other pairs in different colours to match my running attire! I Would highly recommend you go up a size. I'm usually a UK 9 but a 9 in these is way too tight. I Go for the Euro 44 which inside says UK 9-1/2+. Believe me the + makes a difference. Normal 9-1/2 is still too tight, theres more room in the 9-1/2+ but its hard to actually find a pair that size! So a great running trainer-very, very well made, ultra grippy & comfortable. And they will also last you years.
Size UP!

February 4, 2023I love my La Sportiva Trango Tech's summer mountaineering boots which were 46.5 EU 12.5+ USA, which I have used for 20 hour days with long approaches. I got the same size in the Bushido II GTX. My normal shoe size is 11.5 USA (45 EU). With the Bushido II GTX I only have about a 1/4 inch in the toe room. 1/8 with a thicker sock. Snug fit everywhere else. I got as an approach shoe for non-technical hikes in warmer conditions. Been walking around the house with a 10kg pack and there is not a ton of cushioning in these. I would not attempt to run in these except on the downhill of a long hike if I'm impatient. They are more racing flats than training shoes imho. Their style is more tennis (actually for playing tennis) than running with big hiking lugs and low drop. I may have to trade them in for 47 EU USA 13 for my 11.5 feet. I need to test them more. I got them because I was slipping around too much in my Keen low tops, which run wide in D.
