[Rewarded Review] Head to Best Buy for your next MacBook Air
DillyDilly· Review provided by bestbuy.com · March 30, 2024
More details about the product and trade in details, but overall you can call me a happy returning Best Buy client with a new MacBook Air.

Totally recommend this product, and the purchase experience with Best Buy and has brought me back into the store after a decade. Bought this open
Box with trade in as it was sold at a great discount saving me about $50-350, it was in excellent condition and ready for pickup within an hour. I was easily able to trade up from a Mac mini I had purchased after a good 6 months, as
I needed some more functionality and portability. The trade in value was refunded against my full price payment within an hour - fantastic approach for customers who continuously upgrade or purchase their personal technology.

The mac boasts a fantastic modern day MacBook Air with mesmerizing screen and the functionality you expect from apple, and the return of the beloved MagSafe charger. Since 2011, I’ve owned a MacBook for personal, school, and work and it’s the most reliable and feature-rich laptop on the market. It simply sets the tone for the laptop industry. MacBook line makes up for missing fun features like a touch screen, with their compact MagSafe charger, sharp design and colors, with the latest Silicon Valley M2 processor made by Apple for Apple. This combo delivers top performance and speed for almost a full day on one charge. It’s no wonder why Mac users fall in love with their device. This is my third MacBook Air and I’ve had 3 or 4 MacBook pros including newer ones with the apple M2. I have not had any Issues other than battery life depreciation and will swear by these computers. This is the most impressive model yet. If you’re not using it for design, editing
Or coding you won’t always need the power of the pro over an Air so take the sexy slim designed Mac home. I wanted the 15” but settled for the 13” due to cost. I’ve purchased most of my apple devices refurbished, and this was my first open box. I don’t see much difference in new, open box, or refurbished other than knowing you’re the first owner. I can’t speak to geek squad refurbished.

Great trade in program and takes a great variety of old technology you may have. Note that you’ll need to pay full price upfront opposed to traditional trade in that takes 3-5 days prior to you getting something for the device you sent in. I liked Best Buy’s workaround to this by allowing you to drop off your trade in within 10 or so days after buying, one reason why you pay full price up front. This avoids that but also means you need healthy cash flow while purchasing, a deterrent for some who have tight budgets like college students. But on the bright side it avoids the traditional trade in’s biggest draw back, again not for all buyers, the interruption in access to the device if it’s something you use frequently i.e. cell phone or used for work/school. But overall I recommend the Best Buy trade in program over most other retailers or after market buyers. If you’re looking for cash for trade in, you may want to research and compare options online.
[Rewarded Review] Excellent lightweight laptop

The M1 "Air" laptop is all that most people need for general purpose use - it has 8 GB of memory and 256 GB of solid state disk and an excellent 13.3 inch screen - plenty for email, light word processing, light gaming, school work, light artwork, has a good built-in camera, microphone and speakers, etc. Mac computers come with an excellent complement of easy-to-use Mac software for general purpose use and, recently, Stacksocial has been offering a great deal on MS Office 2021 for Mac that extends that ecosystem to the Mac, too. It is fast, responsive, extremely reliable, and is very easy and pleasant to use. Most people only use 30 to 50 GB of "disk" storage (this computer uses much faster solid state disk - not less-reliable and slower hard disk). It is comparatively light and thin as laptops go and is easy to carry. The power supply is not clunky and attaches magnetically. All-in-all a good choice, especially for the price. The only problem i have is thst it has only 2 Thunderbolt ports for wired connections. Thus, if you want to have a hardwired Ethernet connection (faster and more secure) than the built-in WiFi, you need to buy an external Thunderbolt (not just a USB C-type) dock that includes an Ethernet port. Similarly, if you want to use the computer with a larger, say a 24 or a 27 inch screen you need to have an HDMI port on the dock. And if you have other kinds of devices that you use that have USB A connections the dock must have those, too. There are several reliable docks on the market, so if you need one, they are available. Just make sure that the dock has the kinds and number of ports that you need. I recommend this computer if you need a light and very portable general purpose Mac.
[Rewarded Review] From an Android User to an Apple User

After having used this MacBook for seven months, I can confidently say that it’s replaced my Surface, of which I’d also owned for seven months at the time of this purchase.
As a very busy college student with many handwritten assignments, my first Apple product was an iPad just two months earlier, which prompted me to get a MacBook, then eventually an iPhone. Being able to seamlessly transfer homework assignments from every device has made my life as a college student far more streamlined and less stressful.
I have less issues with updates creating a nearly unusable product, like I did with my Surface.
Not having to download additional software to read and use PDF files was a major factor in this, as well, as a lot of my textbooks are digital. Often times I will need to have a minimum of four or five research articles open at a time as downloaded pdf’s, along with a textbook in an additional software, specifically Amazon’s Kindle. I noticed a significant difference in performance between the surface and the MacBook, being that the initial startup of opening these documents and the program was instantaneous, rather than sluggish.
Microsoft Office products work excellently, as well.
Battery life is stellar, the speed and performance is fantastic, and the screen display is exceptional.
Overall, I can say that I am absolutely pleased with this MacBook and can now understand the hype surrounding Apple products, coming from a decade long user of strictly using Android and Microsoft.
[Rewarded Review] DO NOT PURCHASE REFURBISHED APPLE PRODUCTS FROM BB

I purchased a refurbished Macbook Air for my son's Christmas gift and now 7 months later the unit won't charge. When the order was initially placed, I was told that the computer had a one year warranty and that my Total Tech membership would cover any issues that we may have. Yesterday, my son and I had an
appointment with the GeekSquad here in my hometown of Douglasville, GA to have the Macbook checked out. When we arrived, I told the agent what was going on with it and she immediately plugged it in and gave me paperwork to sign. There was no diagnoses done and I was told that the battery needed to be replaced and that it only came with a 90 day warranty. Then the GeekSquad supervisor came from the back and told me that they couldn't do anything with the unit and that I would need to take it to an Apple store.
Earlier today my son and I drove 30 miles to the nearest Apple store and the technician immediately ran a diagnoses on the computer and it passed all tests! The tech then took a look at the charger and it was a third-party accessory that wasn't properly working! Once a genuine Apple charger was plugged into the computer, it immediately started rapidly charging.
My takeaway from this nightmare is to either purchase it new from BestBuy or purchase refurbished products from Apple so that you can add AppleCare. Save your gas and time and take any of your Apple products straight to an Apple store. I was also informed by Apple management today that the GeekSquad is very bad about sending customers to them when there is an issue that they should be able to take care of in-store.
